Welcome to the Paradise City Forum of Northampton, Mass.
Using live public forums, this website, and a Yahoo! discussion group, the Paradise City Forum provides opportunities for sharing information and strategies; discussing public policy issues, decisions and events; and creating support networks for community action. The PCF is a proactive, non-partisan coalition working to maintain and improve the quality of life in Northampton, Florence, Leeds, and Bay State.
It is open to all concerned citizens and community groups.

Live public forums

The PCF’s most recent public discussion was held Wednesday, June 27, 2007 at 220 Main Street in the Unitarian Society Church hall. More than 120 people attended. The topic was the proposed Round House-Pulaski Park Hilton Garden Inn and urban design. Panelists included Tris Metcalfe, AIA, downtown business owner and architect, Mary Chapin, resident of the apartments located on New South Street, Wayne Feiden, Northampton’s Planning Director, Suzanne Beck, Executive Director Northampton Area Chamber of Commerce, and the president of Pioneer Valley Hotel Group, Shardool Parmar.
A public forum (above) was held Wednesday, May 16, 2007 at the Bridge Street School cafeteria regarding the Interstate 91 Interchange 19 expansion. Co-sponsored by Northampton City Council President Michael Bardsley. annalise fonza guest moderator. Panelists included Pioneer Valley Planning Commission Executive Director Timothy Brennan, Environmental Attorney and author Alexandra Dawson, Associate Professor of Astronomy and President MassBike/Pioneer Valley James D. Lowenthal, Attorney and Study Advisory Group member Jonathan Z. Souweine, Bridge Street resident and Ward Three Civic Association member Frank Werbinski, and Northampton Economic Development Coordinator Teri Anderson.
